How I reconciled with my passion for photography

Hi there, I'm Sephora and welcome to my blog, where I will be taking you on a personal journey through words and images. I will be publishing on Saturday afternoons because then, we allow ourselves to dream and escape the harsh reality of life and another one on Sunday evenings to prepare ourselves to go back to our routines. Therefore, I hope my words will take you on a trip finding the hidden creativity within you.

This blog is the expression of my vision of the world; however, today's topic is about forgetting one-self. I do not know about you, but I have never been the one to look around me. I never took the time to appreciate beauty in the world or in random things. The main reason must be because I never stopped; I was always moving, always thinking about my issues. Just me, me, me and always me. 

Growing up, I dreamt of being a novelist and was attracted to art in all its forms. Yet, my dreams were cut short because of capitalism 😂. I didn't know what being a writer meant and those who knew didn't want me to be just another struggling artist. It made me reject any form of creativity I could possibly display. Nonetheless, what is bred in the bone will come out in the flesh and that is what happened for me through photography. 

You know when you refrain yourself from experiencing certain things, it's like mentally setting up a dam. The tiniest crack will end up destroying that dam and you'll be overwhelmed with feelings. I'm not sure what the crack was for me but I found myself observing the world surrounding me. I was now seeing beauty in gas stations, furniture and other random things. This is basically what happened to me; my passion took over logic. 

Now, with baby steps, I'm allowing myself to dream and express my creativity. For everyone going through something similar, you do not have to comment, but it would be greatly appreciated if you do 🙈, just start thinking of how you're truly doing; if you're happy.
