When passion becomes pressure: Taking a step back to enjoy photography again

Image
Hello Passioners, I hope you have been well! It's with a heavy heart that I announce that this post might be our last one. I have decided to take a step back and enjoy my passion without the added pressure of being a blogger. While the idea of a blog was exciting, the responsibility that comes with it can be overwhelming.  As a Master's student, I have a lot of assignments and projects to focus on, and I can't jeopardise my education by dedicating too much time to this blog. I have learned that a passion is meant to be enjoyed, and as soon as it starts feeling like a chore, it's time to stop and re-evaluate.  I recently visited Brussels and traveled around Ile de France last week. Surprisingly, I didn't take any pictures, and I wasn't motivated to do so. I realised that I became more focused on capturing the perfect shot than enjoying the moment.  When passion turns into pressure, it can be difficult to find joy in the things you once loved. As much as I enjoy...

Capturing the Wonders of the World: How Photography Can Inspire Greatness Within Us

Image
Believe in yourself! πŸ’ͺ Hello dear readers, I hope you had a great weekend and you're smoothly getting ready to go back to your weekly activities. I trust that through my writing and photographs, you have come to realise that there's not just a single perspective to the world and that photography can stimulate our thinking. I kind of struggled to find a topic to write about because I didn't get the opportunity to wander on the streets and get inspiration. However, when I looked at my gallery, I noticed that there's still a lot worth discussing. As I told you in my last post, I like travelling. And going around allows me to admire the wonders of human intelligence.  Do you realise that people like you and me have invented the most remarkable and essential technologies shaping the history of humanity? Some of these inventions are the fruits of abnegation and sacrifice as MoliΓ¨re said, "the greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it." I can just im...

Unplugging to Recharge: The Power of Taking a Break and Slowing Down

Image
Take a break 😴!  Hello, Passioners! I hope you're all having a great weekend because I am πŸ˜„! Today we're cruising, we're relaxing. Life keeps on reminding us that we should take each day as it comes. Around this period, three years ago, we learned the harsh way that we should not take ANYTHING for granted. This is why today I'm reminding you to take that break you've promised yourself. I am currently studying for my Masters and as I am realising that I'm about to enter the "real" adult world, I think I haven't relaxed enough. I like partying and such but there's something special about relaxing and slowing down. Studying is stressful enough and I don't want to spend my time stressing about my studies πŸ˜… or doing not meaningful activities.  One of my favourite activities is travelling, which goes well with photography. I often talk with my friends, and we make plans that we end up never doing πŸ™ˆ. I started then reflecting on those stagnan...

Ways to find hope in the everyday: a photographic journey

Image
Remember to look up ☝! Hello, Passioners (yes, I found a cute nickname for our community πŸ˜‹)! I would first like to apologise as I failed to post on Sunday as agreed and promise to try my best to not let it happen again. Thank you for your understanding.  From the previous post, you know that this one is a way to prepare us to go return to reality; however, because it's already Wednesday, this post aims to push us not to give up for we're halfway there. In my artistic journey, I have come to understand that beauty and hope lie where less expected. As I started appreciating the world around me, I came to find that I should always look up. Sometimes, the most beautiful part of a building is the ceiling, and I am not the one to write an essay on how beautiful the sky is.  Being quite an optimistic person, I like surrounding myself with positive energy and that is what looking up came to mean to me. I look up to forget about the downs in my life. I look up because I know it'...

How I reconciled with my passion for photography

Image
Hi there, I'm Sephora and welcome to my blog, where I will be taking you on a personal journey through words and images. I will be publishing on Saturday afternoons because then, we allow ourselves to dream and escape the harsh reality of life and another one on Sunday evenings to prepare ourselves to go back to our routines. Therefore, I hope my words will take you on a trip finding the hidden creativity within you. This blog is the expression of my vision of the world; however, today's topic is about forgetting one-self. I do not know about you, but I have never been the one to look around me. I never took the time to appreciate beauty in the world or in random things. The main reason must be because I never stopped; I was always moving, always thinking about my issues. Just me, me, me and always me.  Growing up, I dreamt of being a novelist and was attracted to art in all its forms. Yet, my dreams were cut short because of capitalism πŸ˜‚. I didn't know what being a writer...
